The14th Public Debate of the Open Republic and the Arnold Szyfman, Polish Theatre (Teatr Polski im. Artura Szyfmana) took place on the 8th of May, 2018. Proceedings on the theme “Do we need elites? The roles and responsibilities of the modern middle class”, were dedicated to the memory of prof. Jerzy Jedlicki – an outstanding intellectual, historian of ideas, democratic opposition activist, co-founder of the Open Republic Association, chairman of its Program Council, an honorary chairman – our Master and our Friend.
The keynote speeches were given by the president of the Open Republic Program Council, Paula Sawicka and the director of the Polish Theatre, Andrzej Seweryn. The discussion between Aleksandra Gliszczyńska – Grabias, Joanna Kurczewska and Leszek Jażdżewski was moderated by Piotr Kulas.
