Holocaust is a subject that has been in the curriculum of Polish schools for a long time. Since 1999 this problem has been obligatory in teaching history and Polish language in gymnasiums, and since 2001 in high schools. Depending on their abilities, maturity and preparation the students got familiarized with difficult fate of the Jews and of Polish-Jewish relationships during the Second World War. The progress in teaching about the Holocaust in the last decade has been very impressive - writes Robert Szuchta, the member of the Program Board of OR.
