On January 23, in the Column Room of the Parliament, the international conference was held; it was entitled: Public media: future or funeral. In the first part , the speakers presented a brief analysis of the situation of the public service media. They stated that the problem of “colonization” of public media by the politicians occurs in all countries of the Central Europe, but it is particularly acute in Poland. The speeach delivered by Doris Pack, the Chairwoman of the Culture and Media Committee of the European Parliament was focused on the European media policy. In the second part of the conference two panels were held: one on budgeting the public service media and the other on the role of the public service media in the era of the internat.
